British alt-pop duo TEME, consisting of JJ Hodari and Bo Morgan, has released a new song “DEF CON”.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming third EP “HA LF”, following the EP title track.
TEME said of the song, “DEF CON sees the protagonist looking back at the ending of a relationship which descended into the destruction of both parties involved. Sometimes, when battling through a situation, people lose the ability to see that to keep going is more harmful in the long run – 'I would have kept fighting on / But I'm more lonely when I'm with you'”.
The duo continued, “With such intensity, damaging sub-plots arise. When emotions are so high, and everything feels zero-sum, it's difficult to understand what is normal. An unhealthy, powerful relationship between sadness and attraction arises, “And when you're at your worst / Right then I want your skin”. Indeed, when there's such extreme sadness, the need for physical intimacy and release becomes even more powerful.”
The new EP is set to be released on August 18, 2021.
Also, the duo will perform at Laylow in London on July 30, 2021.-
