Billie Eilish Performs “listen before i go” & “come out and play” at The Steve Jobs Theater
American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish won Apple Music Awards 2019 for Global Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year.
Then, she performed “listen before i go” and “come out and play” at The Steve Jobs Theater on December 4th.
Also, Lizzo received Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Lil Nas X received Song of the Year with “Old Town Road” at Apple Music Awards.
“listen before i go” and “come out and play” are included on her debut album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, which was released back in March.
Billie Eilish said of “listen before i go”, “Basically it’s like, um it’s about, it’s just about depression, and what can come out of depression, which is not pretty good. […] When this comes out, I don’t want it to break you down, I want it to bring you to me and I don’t know, be like a mental hug, I guess. [… ] What I’m really trying to do is let my words be your words and stay ours.”
“come out and play” was written for Apple’s 2018 holiday ad campaign “Holiday. Apple aired an animated video for the advert with the song.
Her brother and producer Finneas said, “Billie and I got sent an incredibly early version of this commercial when they were still putting it together and we wrote this song while watching it. Beyond honored to be a part of this wonderful piece.”- Ie2Xv2dD1Bg
