AntsLive Premieres New Song “Captain Ants” on BBC Radio 1
London-based rapper AntsLive premiered a new song “Captain Ants” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Jack Saunders.
The song is the second single since his debut album “Just A Matter Of Time”, following “Ooh La La”.
The song samples J. Cole's “Can't Get Enough”, which was sampled from Bella Et Ses Balladins' “Paulette”.
The track was written by Anton Raphael Baleanu, mile Beni Soumah, Ibrahitna Sori Kandia Kouyate, and Oliver Rodigan. Produced by Cadenza.
AntsLive told Jack Saunders about the song, “Obviously I'm just a massive J. Cole fan. So those who've listened to the song don't know that's a sample from 'Can't Get Enough'. And I always wanted to jump in here. So I linked up with Cadenza. That's the producer, and we made magic. And I'm just trying to elevate trying to progress every time, I feel like this song is level up and naturally the video, as well. That's also a level up.”- He continued to say about producer Cadenza, “Cadenza, he's a quiet guy. He just kind of lets me do my thing. As soon as he played the beat. I said, 'Cool'. I've got to cheer something underneath. Obviously, all the diehard J. Cole fans don't hate me. I'm saying I'll just put my own spin on it. Because I know there's a few out there that are gonna be like, nah, this can't run. He's the you get me but obviously, working with Cadenza on this one I just felt that you know, it's making sense the UK needs a sound like this and he was meant to provide it.”

The accompanying music video was directed by Tom Emmerson.
In this clip, AntsLive stands on top of a plane as he flies at a height of 6000 feet. Additionally, he is dancing with Salsa dancers.
He said, “I'm actually standing on top of a plane in the Swiss Alps are like 6000 feet. No green screen. So I learned to dance Salsa. For about six weeks, I'd say on and off. Obviously I was I was in another country. But Sha Lisa and Santi those are my two teachers. I just always wanted to do something a bit different. I've always enjoyed dancing knew I'm not the best dancer but I wanted to probably do something like a Salsa dance for this check. So I looked in and I think it came out pretty well all.” - source : BBC Radio 1
