American singer-songwriter Ava Max is back with a new song “Maybe You're The Problem” along with a music video on April 29, 2022.
The song is the first single off of her upcoming sophomore album of the same name.
Back in March, she told a Billboard about the second album. “I spent all year writing on this next album. I spent all last year writing and it was the hardest year of my life, last year, personally. This music will say a lot. Especially this new song coming out later this month. I've never written anything so personal and it's probably some of the best music I've ever written.”
She continued, “It's still anthemic and pop and amazing, but I think it's a little different. It's more personal and I hope the fans [like it]. I'm terrified because I feel like a piece of my heart is coming out and I'm super nervous about it.”
She teased the new song on TikTok on March 21st, then he post a new snippet of an acoustic version of the song via social media.
The track was written by Alexander Izquierdo, Amanda Ava Koci, Henry Walter, Jonas Jeberg, Marcus Lomax andSean Douglas.
Produced by Cirkut and Jonas Jeberg. The accompanying video was directed by Joseph Kahn.
“Everyone always says 'it's not you it's me' but sometimes the problem really isn't me, it's you!!” Ava Max said of the song. “'Maybe You're The Problem' was so much fun to create. This new music I've been working on is the most personal music I have ever made.”
