Disclosure Premieres New Song “Waterfall” featuring Raye on BBC Radio 1
British electronic music duo Disclosure premiered a new song “Waterfall” on Radio 1's Future Sounds with Sian Eleri.
This time, the duo teamed up with British singer-songwriter Raye on the track.
This marks the first collaboration between Disclosure and Raye.
The track was written by Guy Lawrence, Howard Lawrence, Rachel Keen and Jimmy Napes. Produced by Guy Lawrence.
Disclosure told Sian Eleri of the song, “Well, weird story actually. So like a long time ago, probably like nine years ago. I came down to my kitchen and she was just there. To explain that my best friend who I lived with at the time, is a producer and she was doing a session with him but he wasn't there. So to me, it was just a stranger in my kitchen. So we just started chatting. I made a cup of tea. And then nine years later, we made.”- The duo continued, “And I actually bumped into an LA in a different session. So there's just a few times where as I alright, let's just get this together. Now just do it. And I think when we all finally arrived on the day, our friend Jimmy's studio, who also helped co-write the song. There was not even a discussion about whether we were writing garage or not, it was just obviously we're doing, because we're all big fans of that sound. We're in London. The sun's coming out. Someone is coming. Let's make that song for the for the people. So that was the aim. Now it wasn't as direct as that. It was just like one of those Vipers in the air that day. That's how it came out.”

The duo said of the song in a statement, “Raye is such a dream to work with in the studio. Best way to describe her is as a hook machine! You get the beat rolling & vibes going & she gives you like 5 chorus melody options straight away… she makes writing the way we do so easy & enjoyable. We all knew within 5 minutes we were gonna make a UKG summer sunshine banger & that's exactly what we ended up with. We all had London & it's beautiful musical history in our hearts that day & we hope that comes across to the listener.”
Raye added, “This was really the first song Disclosure and I had created together, and everyone loved it, it came together really quickly and organically. The boys led with a garage vibe and I think it's summertime warm energy! I hope people love it as much as we enjoyed making it.” - source : BBC Radio 1
