- Beck Performs Latest Song “Up All Night” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show
- American singer-songwriter Beck Hansen, aka Beck appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he performed his latest song “Up All Night”.
The song was released on September 18 from his thirteenth studio album “Colors”, which was released on October 13.
The track was written by Beck Hansen and Greg Kurstin and follows up previous single “Dear Life”.
The new album was recorded at co-executive producer Greg Kurstin's Los Angeles studio, with Beck and Kurstin playing nearly every instrument themselves.
About the new album, Beck told Rolling Stone in an interview;
"These are complex songs all trying to do two or three things at once," he said. "It's not retro and not modern. To get everything to sit together so it doesn't sound like a huge mess was quite an undertaking."
- Recently he interviewed with Los Angeles Magazine and talked about "Colors";
"I’m always trying to do the same thing. I get sidetracked or rerouted on the way to my destination, but for years I’ve been going, “Let’s do something really simple and classic,” and then it becomes something else. Always. Galvanizing is such a weird word to use for an album. I’ve gotta go back to the word farm, but the way that manifests is the songs are faster, there’s a sort of melodic harmonic uplift happening, and something playful in the sound and songwriting."
