  • Halsey Premieres New Song “The End” on BBC Radio 1

  • American singer-songwriter Halsey is back. They premiered a new song “The End” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is their first solo music since the 2021 album “If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power”.
Also, the track is the first single off of their upcoming fifth studio album and is the first release under their new label Columbia Records. They left Capitol Records and then singed to Columbia Records in 2023.
The track was written and produced by Halsey, with production by Alex G and Michael Uzowuru.
The song draws their struggles with existentialism and health issues.

Before, Halsey revealed that they experienced various health complications after giving birth to their first child, “I was hospitalized for anaphylaxis a few times and had some other stuff going on. Basically, after seeing a like 100,000 doctors, I got diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), [and] Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).”
  • They shared on social media, “Long story short, I'm Lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album. it begins with The End.”
They added, “I feel like an old lady. I told myself I'm giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I'm having a rebirth and I'm not gonna be sick and I'm gonna look super hot and have so much energy and just get to re-do my twenties in my thirties.”

In conjunction with the release of the song, Halsey is making a donation to both The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance.

  • They said, “In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life. After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I'm feeling better and I'm more grateful than ever to have music to turn to. I can't wait to get back where I belong: With you al. Singing and screaming my heart out.”
