Keith Urban Drops New Music Video for “Out The Cage” featuring Breland & Nile Rodgers
- Australian country music singer-songwriter Keith Urban has dropped a new music video for “Out The Cage”.
The song is included on his eleventh studio album “The Speed of Now Part 1”, which was released last September.
He teamed up with American singer-songwriter Breland and American guitarist Nile Rodgers on the track.
It was written by Keith Urban, Sam Sumser, Sean Small and Breland.
Keith Urban said of the song, “I really wanted this to speak to liberation of all sorts, even if somebody in a dead-end job, somebody stuck in a relationship that's going nowhere or someone who's imprisoned in their own mind.”
Keith Urban and Breland filmed the video in Sydney, Australia, where local lockdown rules dictated that they had to quarantine for two weeks prior to shooting. Nile Rodgers filmed his parts separately in Connecticut.
- “I get a phone call from Keith — and he's my bro — so of course I jumped on the call,” Nile Rodgers said in a press release. "He says, 'Hey Nile, I got this song that I'm working on, can I send it to you?' I listened for about 5 minutes.”
“He called me 10 minutes later and said, 'Yo brother, this song is sick.'” Keith Urban said.
Breland said, “So, I said, 'I'll be there tomorrow.' I mean, working with Keith Urban? I was like, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!”
“It's 9:30 the next morning, my phone rings and it's Breland,” Keith Urban added. “He says, 'Hey Keith, it's Breland. I'm in your front yard.'”
