ILLENIUM Releases New Album “ILLENIUM”
American DJ Nicholas Daniel Miller, aka ILLENIUM released his self-titled fifth album on April 28, 2023.
It is the follow-up to his GRAMMY-nominated fourth studio album “Fallen Embers” released on 2021.
The album comprises 16-track, with collaborations from Teddy Swims, MAX, Skylar Grey, jxdn, Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, Spiritbox, Wooli, Grabbitz, American Teeth, Said The Sky, Vera Blue, JVKE, Motionless In White, and Nina Nesbitt.
ILLENIUM said of the album, “To me, a self titled album is the core sound of who I am. I see this album and it's story as a prequel to the Trilogy, where I get to explore my original musical inspirations and blend something that truly feels fresh. It's made to be played live, with a band, and we're bringing it on a world tour this summer/fall.”
He continued, “I absolutely love the roller coaster this album takes me on. I'd also like to thank everyone involved in helping me craft this body of work that I couldn't be more proud of. 5 albums in 7 years is absolutely crazy to think about and it's been the best journey I could have ever hoped for.”- ILLENIUM explained about some tracks for the album.
“All That Really Matters” with Teddy Swims
ILLENIUM said, “This song means so much to me. With all that's going on in the world, it's great to just take a step back and find what really matters. Teddy's voice and performance take it to the next level.”
Teddy Swims said, “This song is just a great reminder of what truly matters. With the world the way it is currently it's easy to get caught up in all the distractions. The only thing that really matters is love. I've always been a fan of ILLENIUM so it's an honor to do a song with him!”
“Worst Day” with MAX via VMAN
ILLENIUM said, “The song imagines what life could be like without someone you love or after just losing someone. It's like saying, 'It could have been the worst day of my life,' or 'It could have been life-changing.' Those kinds of moments remind you why it's so amazing to love and to be grateful.”
MAX said, “I feel like I haven't been doing as many features with other people because I love staying in my own album lane, but with Illenium, he taps into such an emotional place that is so rare, especially in the electronic space. And I think that's why we've worked so well together because it's very vulnerable.” -
“From The Ashes” with Skylar Grey
ILLENIUM said, “This is one of those songs that I feel so lucky and grateful to be a part of. My main goal with music is to give people peace and some escape – and that's exactly what 'From The Ashes' does for me.
Skylar Grey said, “ILLENIUM and I have been wanting to collab for years, excited we finally made it happen. The throwback Enya vibes combined with that fake out drop is the eargasm of the decade for me. And the lyrics completely parallel where I'm at in life right now.
“Shivering” with Spiritbox
ILLENIUM said, “Spiritbox has been one of my favorite bands for a minute and being able to work with them has been a dream. They're incredibly talented and Courtney has a voice unlike anyone. Definitely one of my favorite songs I've been a part of."
Spiritbox said, “Watching Illenium work and create on the spot was such an amazing thing to witness and be a part of." said Spiritbox. "It was an honor working with him, and we appreciate his willingness to push boundaries, and use his influence to bring metal to the masses.”
“Insanity” with American Teeth
ILLENIUM said, “Everything about this song just feels so anthemic to me. Elijah sounds absolutely epic and killed his performance on this record. It feels so nostalgic and I can't get it out of my head.”
American Teeth's Elijah Noll said, “A journey through the dangers of living life on the edge. It's about getting lost in a reckless lifestyle and the inevitable chaos that ensues when trying to navigate a relationship.”
“With All My Heart” with JVKE
“This song is pure ear candy to me. JVKE's voice is incredibly powerful, the lyrics really hit, and the vocal chops make it epic and vibey. So stoked on how this record turned out.” - source : Apple Music
