- Tom Misch Releases New Album “Geography” on SoundCloud
- London-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Tom Misch has released his sophomore album “Geography” via SoundCloud. The album is his first LP in three years.
“Geography” comprises of 13-track and features guest appearances from GoldLink, De La Soul, Poppy Ajudha and Loyle Carter.
The sound of the album is blending of Jazz, soul, R&B, electronica and hip-hop. Also, his guitar play is so great, it reminds us of George Benson, John Mayer and Eric Clapton.
Especially, on "Before Paris", "Tick Tock", "Man Like You" and "Isn't She Lovely", you can hear his amazing guitar plays.
Last year, he said of the album in an interview with IDOL Magazine;
"I’ve just started playing live shows, so from these shows I’ve got a much better idea of the sound I want to go [with]. I’m trying to write music that, when you see me live, it’s something really special, because I feel like the stuff from Beat Tape 2 doesn’t really work that well live. I guess it’s more acoustic, it allows me to have more freedom on the guitar, more singer-songwriter kind of vibes but with the electronic elements still. So banging drums, and that kind of thing."
- Tom Misch blends hip-hop-inspired beats with smoothly soulful vocals and guitar. He began posting tracks online in 2012. He collaborated with singer-songwriter Carmody, who released EP "Out to Sea" in 2014.
His debut album "Beat Tape 2" was released in 2015, followed by he issued EP "Reverie" in 2016.
He has currently toured in support of the album. The tour takes place in North America, UK and Europe through to November.
