Pixey Announces Debut Album “Million Dollar Baby”, Premieres Title Track on BBC Radio 1
Liverpool-based singer-songwriter Pixey has announced her debut full-length album “Million Dollar Baby” will be released on August 2, 2024.
The new album is the follows-up to the 2022 debut mini-album “Dreams, Pains & Paper Planes”.
The album comprises a 10-track, written and produced by Pixey with som-cowriters and co-producers.
It is the culmination of years of musical exploration and her personal growth.
“This album is more than just music to me; it's the final form of years of trying to prove myself,” Pixey said of the album. “I've put my entire soul into this record. Each track has been written, recorded & produced by myself alongside some amazing co-writers and producers, it's really something special.”- From the album, she premiered the title track on BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The song is the second single off of the album, following the release of “The Thrill Of It” back in January.
The track was written by Daniel West, Elizabeth Hillesdon, and Rich Turvey. Produced by Pixey and Rich Turvey.
The accompanying music video was directed by Daniel Pattman. -
Pixey said of the song, “The track is satirical at its heart, narrating the absurdity of chasing fame and sugar-coated ambition. It reflects a lot of truths I realised while writing the album. The performative nature of the music industry often peddles illusions, and real fulfilment comes from writing the music itself.”
