Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ purpl Releases New Song “Salad”
British alt-pop singer-songwriter purpl released a new song “Salad” on April 26, 2024.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming sophomore EP, following the release of “Trippin” back in January.
Serving a slice of feel-good fun, the track is a playful love song that's laced with nostalgic elements and pays homage to her musical roots of Bristol.
The track was written by Rebekah Sarah Power, and Alexander Peter Channelle who also produced it.
purpl said of the song, “I wrote salad in the most unconventional way - I put some random words in a bag and challenged myself to write a song using the first three words I pulled out. Those words were 'salad', 'lean' and 'stir'. So using those three words I managed to write one of the best love songs I've ever written. Consisting of trip hop and 90's elements, we wanted the production to pay homage to the musical roots of Bristol - our home.”
