JP Saxe Performs “Here's Hopin'” with John Mayer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
- Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform “Here's Hopin'”.
American guitarist John Mayer played the guitar on this performance.
The song is included on JP Saxe's debut album “Dangerous Levels of Introspection”, which was released on June 25, 2021.
It was written by Ryan Marrone, Benjamin Rice and JP Saxe.
JP Saxe shared on social media, “performing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight withJohn Mayer. him havin my back like this on the first week of my album release is one of the coolest, kindest and most generous things anyones ever done for me. I fell in love with songwriting in large part cuz of how his songs make me feel and now we get to do this song together just the two of us tonight and holyyy shit im excited.”
- JP Saxe told Apple Music about the song, “This one's an especially nostalgic song for me, because when John Mayer came into the studio to listen to the album before we finished it, “Here's Hopin'” was one of the songs that really resonated with him, and he picked up his guitar and played on it. As someone who fell in love with songwriting in large part due to an album like [Mayer's] Continuum, having him be a part of my debut album is pretty fucking bananas.”
