Goodnight, Sunrise Releases New Song “Won't Be Long”
- Toronto-based alt-rock band Goodnight, Sunrise, consisting of Vanessa Vakharia (keytar, vocals) and David Kochberg (guitar, vocals), released a new song “Won't Be Long”.
Back in January 2020, the band wrote the song as a pep talk to anyone faced with an uphill battle in pursuit of their goals, whatever they are – a song of hope and faith and perseverance.
It was written by Vanessa Vakharia and David Kochberg. Produced by Brian Moncarz.
Goodnight, Sunrise shared, “'Won't Be Long' is the hopeful summer anthem energy we could all use more of right now. It's a song of hope and faith and perseverance. Produced by Brian Moncarz (Our Lady Peace, Alice Cooper, The Tea Party) and accompanied by Our Lady Peace bassist Duncan Coutts & drummer Jason Pierce, we wrote “Won't Be Long” back in Jan 2020 as a pep talk to ourselves and to anyone facing an uphill battle in pursuit of a dream.”
- The band continued, “Now, over a year into a pandemic that has redefined every single aspect of our lives, 'Won't Be Long' has taken on a new meaning and urgency – no more quarantunes about being locked down and lonely, no: this is a song about the light at the end of the tunnel that's getting closer every day! This song also marks the 10th anniversary of our first show as a band, at Rancho Relaxo in Toronto – a perfect time to reflect on how far we have come and start the next chapter in our story and sound.”
