Canadian actor Connor Price teamed up with British actor Idris Elba to release a new song “Courteney Cox”.
The song is an homage to Connor Price's favorite American actress Courteney Cox, who appeared on music video for the song as a cameo.
The track was released back in January, the accompanying music video was directed by Connor Price and Idris Elba.
Initially, Idris Elba posted his freerstyle rap to Instagram. Then Connor Price responded to his freestyle on Instagram, both chatted on Instagram's direct messenger and completed the song.
They sent the song Courteney Cox, who to give not only her permission for the track, but also she agreed to a cameo.
Connor Price told Billboard, “I kind of thought Idris was joking when he was like, 'Hey. If we ever do this music video, we gotta get Courteney Cox.' Then, surely enough, he's Idris Elba. I thought, 'He can probably make that happen' [laughs]. Idris's publicist and someone from her team made that connection. We each sent her a one-minute video introducing ourselves, which was awkward to do.”
“It was really quick actually!” Idris Elba told ET Canada. “I sent her a letter through the publicist. It was like, 'Hey listen I'm Idris.' And it was just a was a weird letter: 'I'm rapping on this song. And I don't know if you fancy listening to it.' I don't know what she must have thought when she saw it.”- -3RquvZxcQk
