Noah Kahan Covers Olivia Rodrigo's “lacy” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform “Stick Season” and a cover of Olivia Rodrigo's “lacy”.
This marks his musical guest debut on Live Lounge.
“Stick Season” is the title track of his third studio album, which was released last October.
Noah Kahan told Genius about the song, “There's a lot of beef between New Hampshire and Vermont so I have to say I was from both but I'd call myself vermoner. But it's definitely a song about you know the time of year in Vermont stick season when all the leaves are off the trees and it's a term that was used by some of the older folks in the town I grew up in to describe this like really miserable time of year when it's just kind of gray and cold and there's no snow yet and kind of the beauty of the foliage is done. It's time of year that very specific to where I grew up and you know I was concerned that I might alienate people and I was like this is incredibly specific like every one thinks Vermont's in Canada I'm not sure if anyone's gonna get this but it was cool to see it connect with people have their own meanings of what stick season might mean to them or what their hometowns mean to them so it was cool to see it connect outside of New England.”
“lacy” was released by American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo from her sophomore album “Guts” in September 2023.
The track was written by Olivia Rodrigo, and Dan Nigro, who also produced it.
Also, Olivia Rodrigo appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to cover Noah Kahan's “Stick Season” back in October.
