Sam Smith & Madonna Team Up for New Song “Vulgar”
British singer-songwriter Sam Smith teamed up with American singer-songwriter Madonna to release a new song “Vulgar” on June 9, 2023.
For Sam Smith, the song is their first music since their fourth studio album “Gloria”, which was released back in January.
While, Madonna joined in the song after releasing the collaborative song “Popular” with Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd and American rapper Playboi Carti from “The Idol, Vol. 1” soundtrack.
Sam Smith recorded the song on the day after the Grammys. They received Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Unholy” at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
The track was written by Sam Smith, Madonna, Ilya Salmanzadeh, Ryan Tedder, Omer Fedi, Henry Walter, and James Napier.
Produced by ILYA, Cirkut, Omer Fedi, Ryan Tedder, Jimmy Napes, and Sam Smith.
Sam Smith told Zane Lowe of Apple Music about the collaboration with Madonna, “‘Vulgar’ is one of the most exciting songs I’ve been a part of. It was written with Madonna and an amazing group of people. The day after the Grammys, we all got in the studio and just had an amazing evening creating and writing, and expressing. And, of course, it was the biggest dream come true for me to get to work with and perform and sing with the Queen of Pop. I am so honored and excited about this song and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
