Years & Years Announces New Album “Night Call”, Premieres New Song “Crave” on BBC Radio 1
- British singer-songwriter Olly Alexander, aka Years & Years announced his third studio album “Night Call” would be released on January 7, 2022.
It is his first album as a solo artist. Back in March, Years & Years announced that the band would be separated and work as Olly Alexander's solo project. Mikey Goldsworthy will still play live with the band and Emre Türkmen will focus on his work as a writer and producer.
From the album, Years & Years premiered a new song “Crave” along with a music video on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds.
It was written by The video was directed by Tom Beard.
Olly Alexander said of the song, “It's a daring dance track about leaning into submission to the point of embracing it. 'Crave' is a playful way of inhabiting the deranged sexual energy I've always wanted. In the past, I felt like I've been dominated by toxic relationships, and I felt like it would be fun to turn it on its head.”
The new album comprises of 16-track, reflecting his status as a powerful voice for the LGBTQ+ community, and blurs the line between fantasy and reality while capturing the joy and anticipation of going out.
“I was writing from a fantastical space, stuck in the same four walls,” he siad. “I wanted to have as much pleasure as possible in the music.”
