Sonia Stein Releases New Song “Zoom Out”
- London-based singer-songwriter Sonia Stein released a new song “Zoom Out” on July 2, 2021.
She worked with producer Geo Jordan on the track. She began to create the song last December.
The song is her first single since the 2020 EP “Letters”.
Sonia Stein said of the song, “'Zoom Out' is a disco inspired song about getting some perspective and looking at situations from a distance. It touches on getting too caught up and losing our sense of what's important, about our negative inner voices and not taking things too seriously. I look at it as wise advice to myself wrapped up in a really fun bop so it can enter my brain almost subliminally. It came together within the first hour of my first session with the amazing Geo Jordan (Lianne La Havas, Ego Ella May, Sasha Keable, Anna Straker) the first thing he played was that guitar riff and I immediately started singing the verse melody.”
- She shared on social media, “I wrote this song with the incredible Geo Jordan whom I met on that very morning. The day was a magical string of serendipities including when we realized he used to live in the exact building I live in right now 🤯 he's behind all the tasty things you hear on the track so give him a follow and show him some love. If you're ever overwhelmed by the minutiae of life and need to get a little perspective this is your song.”
She continued, “Making of Zoom Out with Geo Jordan. This was 20th of December 2020 (any numerology experts here to weigh in ?) and the last session before a very long lockdown seemed to descend on us in the UK. I've been kind of nervous about how long it took to finally start putting out music this year but I now realize as usual, the universe conspired to bring out the perfect bright fruity sunny tune in the heart of the summer. Thank you so much for all the love so far! Mixed by Joe Hirst and mastered by Kevin Tuffy 💕 all instrumentation and production is Geo 🙌🏼”
