CAL Teams Up With Quinn XCII for New Song “In the Water”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Cal Shapiro, aka CAL teamed up with American singer-songwriter Quinn XCII to release a new song “In the Water”.
The track was written by CAL, Quinn XCII and Jorgen Odegard. The accompanying music video was directed by Mike O'Brien.
Cal Shapiro shared on social media, “YOU GIVE ME MAJOR LIFT LIKE HALLELUJAH MELODIES!! I think my face is broken from smiling so hard. Quinn XCII my friend. We went from the classic LA 'yeah we should do something some time' to a genuine connection we'll have for life. I appreciate your artistry and craft, and straight up I AM A FAN! As it was for a lot of you, this time has been crazy for me. Perspective flips when everything slips away and something changed for me during this time. For one, I fell in love with the production process through my quarantine videos — remember those??— But producing this song alone scared the shit out me. I was loving where I had it but playing it for Jorgen Odegard changed everything. He is reeeeeediculously talented in the most unassuming humble way. His ideas took this song to another level. And he was the final piece of this magnificent puzzle. But finishing a song is just step one.”- He Continued, “Luke Heffernan and @jglick23 are family and have been managing/ co-parenting me for so long they make everything easy. And then @mattgalle and Photo Finish sign me to a record deal team and I get more all-stars on the team. Taylor Flynn and Drew Kaklamanos you two are incredible to work with. Oh and then this VISUAL MASTERPIECE created by the incomparable Mike O'Brien. Dog, you outdid yourself. I'm out of words. I'm honestly just really happy. i feel like we're starting something and i'm trying not to be anywhere but here. in this moment, soaking it in. Life's a team sport and I couldn't have done it without all of you. Thank you!”
