RIKA Releases New Song “Long Shot” with Jamie Miller from New EP “Conversations I've Never Had”
London-based singer-songwriter RIKA released a new song “Long Shot” on January 19, 2024.
The song is featured on her new 6-track EP “Conversations I've Never Had”.
She teamed up with Los Angeles-based Welsh singer-songwriter Jamie Miller on the track.
The track was written by Joe Kearns, Lotte Mørkved, RIKA, and Sakima. Produced by Joe Kearns and Sakima.
The accompanying music video was directed by Elise Schatz, who filmed in Los Angeles.
RIKA said of the song, “I wrote Long Shot around a very uncertain time in my relationship with my ex, and it captures the 'what if I said what I really wanted to' feeling you get when you hold back. Collaborating with Jamie Miller on this song was an absolute dream and he just takes the song to the next level. Shooting this video in LA was the most magical time.”
Jamie Miller added, “RIKA's really talented, so when she asked me to be a part of her song, it was an immediate yes. I think her voice is so distinct, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to work together.”- RIKA said of the EP, “This EP saved my life. The name for the EP found me one random day last may without me even knowing what the songs would be yet. I just knew from that day that this EP would be a way to say all the things I haven't been able to say to everyone I love or have loved, including you.”
She continued, “Working on this EP has taught me so much about life and myself, and I've leaned on this project more than any person ever. Every idea, person and experience that contributed to the visual and sonic creation of this EP, I thank you so so much.” -
