Emei Releases New Song “Don't Know About the World”
Los Angeles-based Chinese-American alt-pop singer-songwriter Emily Li, aka Emei will release her sophomore EP on October 20, 2023.
Emei said, “My sophomore EP comes out on October 20th!! Never been so proud of a project before and I cannot wait til these songs are all yours. Cannot wait to play all of them for you live so so soon.”
From the EP, she released a new song “Don't Know About the World” on September 15, 2023.
The track was written by Emily Li, Skyler Stonestreet, and Boyblue. Produced by Boy Blue. The accompanying music visualiser was directed by Aser Santos Jr.
Emei said of the song. “It is a song about feeling safe and finding solace in that one person (or space or thing). I don't often write about love, so finding a way to create a sappy authentic love song that still could live on this project was more difficult than you'd think. I wanted this single to be a bit of a left turn from my previous singles. I wanted the song to be a window into my emotional world.”- Emei shared on social media, “This song means a lot to me. I really love this one like everything about it. I was going through it the other month and was rehearsing the song for my London show when I literally started crying out of nowhere bc sometimes the world is a hard place to live in and sometimes I forget how lucky I am to be surrounded by so many people i adore.
