Katy Perry Performs Medley of “Never Really Over”, “Not The End Of The World” & “Roar” on T Mall Double 11 Gala
- American singer-songwriter Katy Perry performed medley of “Never Really Over”, “Not The End Of The World” and “Roar” on T Mall Double 11 Gala's virtual stage.
Annual “Tmall Double 11 Global Shopping Festival gala” was broadcasted by China's e-commerce giant, Alibaba.
Katy Perry tweeted, “Come with me to the edge of the world...✨ my first offering of #NotTheEndOfTheWorld for #Tmall's Double 11 Gala ♥️”
“Never Really Over” was released in 2019 from her sixth studio album “Smile”. She teamed up Russian-German DJ Zedd for the song.
Katy Perry said of the song, “I worked on this song when I was on tour, and I don't really do that. It's produced by Zedd, and I brought him the song and he said, 'Wow it sounds amazing.' Specifically, the lyrics in the second verse that I really love is: 'I guess I should try to go to therapy to try to get you out of my brain, I can't even go on the internet, without even checking your name.”
“Never Really Over” was released back in August from “Smile”. She said, “Although 'Not the End of the World' contains some of the most memorable lyrics on Smile – 'You might see a cliff, but I see a way to fly / Flipping off the flop, now I just enjoy the ride' is one grade-A couplet – its trap-influenced production and interpolation of Steam's 'Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye' clashes with the rest of the album around it.”
“Roar” is included on her fourth studio album “Prism”. It was released in 2013 as the lead single of the album. The track reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles chart.
