Waxahatchee Announces New Album “Tigers Blood”, Shares New Song “Right Back to It” featuring MJ Lenderman
American singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield, aka Waxahatchee has announced her sixth studio album “Tigers Blood” will be released on March 22, 2024 via ANTI- Records.
The album comprises a 12-track, featuring a guest appearance from Asheville-based singer-songwriter MJ Lenderman, produced by Brad Cook.
The album was recorded at the Sonic Ranch in the border town Tornillo, Texas.
From the album, Waxahatchee released the first single called “Right Back to It” on January 9, 2024. She teamed up with MJ Lenderman on the track.
The track was written by Katie Crutchfield and produced by rad Cook. The accompanying music video was directed by Corbett Jones and Nick Simonite.
Waxahatchee said of the song, “I wrote it backstage at Wolf Trap when I was on tour opening for Jason Isbell and Sheryl Crow. I'm really interested in writing love songs that are gritty and unromantic. I wanted to make a song about the ebb and flow of a longtime love story. I thought it might feel untraditional but a little more in alignment with my experience to write about feeling insecure or foiled in some way internally, but always finding your way back to a newness or an intimacy with the same person.”
- Waxahatchee embarks on 2024 US tout in support of the album. The tour kicks off at Uptown Theater in Kansas City, MO on April 18, 2024, and will conclude at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA on September 8, 2024.
Snail Mail, Good Morning, Tre Burt, Tim Heidecker, Greg Mendez and Gladie will all serve as opening support.
