ARXX Premieres New Version of “Baby Uh Huh” on BBC Radio 1
British alt-rock duo ARXX, consisting of Hanni Pidduck (vocals/guitar) and Clara Townsend (drums), premiered a new version of “Baby Uh Huh” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The original version of the song is featured on their debut album “Ride Or Die”, which was released back in March.
This time, the duo released the new version as a charity single for the queer community We Exist.
We Exist is a trans-led project aiming to do two main things. First, to raise money to directly give to trans people in need across the UK with essential healthcare costs, and secondly, to take up space within London and beyond to benefit trans people as well as the wider queer community.
On the track, the duo teamed up with Ailbhe Reddy, Beth White, Merpire, Belot, Cherym, Phoebe Green, SOFT LAD, crysometimes, Clt Drp and Ida Just.- The duo told Clara Amfo about song, “We knew we wanted to pair like a charity single raising money for really cool cause and this one it just seemed like the right song. It's about like bad friends and having to find like your own community that make you a better person. And that felt like such a important experience such as like a queer experience your own like curated family. So far like the perfect way to like get together and raise money for this amazing trans charity.”
They said of the collaboration with ten artists, “And that's why we kind of chose a lot of the people who were singing on it because they're just like friends of ours from all over the place we've toured with and wherever we can bring our friends in onto a project. It's like, we will angle them in some way.” -
