The Wombats Premieres New Song “Everything I Love Is Going to Die” on BBC Radio 1
British alt-rock band The Wombats premiered a new song “Everything I Love Is Going to Die” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is taken from their upcoming sixth studio album “Fix Yourself, Not the World”.
It was written by Matthew Murphy, Micah Premnath and Luke Niccoli. Produced by Mark Crew.
Frontman Matthew Murphy told Clara Amfo about the song, “It's I don't think it's as grim as like the type of may suggest, but it's kind of a playful take on staying grounded and being present and being a bit grateful, I think. But I'd like to think it goes a little bit deeper in that. So it's not just about living in the moment or for the moment all the time because that has some pretty dire consequences to it. So I kind of think this elements of, you know, having fun with that, too. I think it's kind of a at its core. It's a happy song.”- The new album is set to be released on January 7, 2022. The album comprises 12-track.
It was then recorded remotely during several COVID-19 lockdowns beginning in 2020, with each band member in a different location: Matthew Murphy in Los Angeles, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen in Oslo and drummer Dan Haggis in London.
He said pf the album, “It's completely done and took like eight months of kind of you know, doing all that twiddling and stuff was recorded over three in three different countries. What was happening with the world and so that was pure madness. But no thankfully the madness and stuff and we were fully committed.” - source : BBC Radio 1
