Jessie Reyez Performs “FAR AWAY” and “CRAZY” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
- On November 21st, Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez released a new song “CRAZY” with an accompanying music video. The track is a cover of Patsy Cline’s 1961 “Crazy”. It was written by Willie Nelson.
After the release of the song, she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the song and previous single “FAR AWAY”.
“FAR AWAY” was released last month. Produced by Vegyn and Rogét Chahayed. Jessie Reyez said, Me and Vegyn and Roget, the two producers, were mad sick. We were in a session together, and we were talking about life. About long distance love, cause we’d all dealt with it. And, it was just that simple. Then, once it was more formulated to me, it was just black and white about love. About when you feel like you’ve found a home in somebody. And then, for reasons that you can’t control, you guys are ripped apart.”
Jessie Reyez was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album with “Being Human in Public” at 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. “Being Human in Public” is her sophomore album and was released on October 19, 2018.
“I was sleeping,” Jessie Reyez told Billboard. “My team showed up with a doughnut and a camera and my parents screaming congrats outside my hotel door. I was like wtf happened!?”
“The nomination means a lot. I cried,” she admits. “It’s something I’ve thought about since I was a kid. I could say it’s an honor to be nominated, but this kid wants to win!”
The ceremony is scheduled for January 26, 2020, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
