Back in October, Americana singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile and British singer-songwriter Sam Smith released a new song “Party Of One”.
The music video of duet garnered over 2 million views on YouTube, so far. Two month later, she unveiled another music video for the song.
This time, the song is the album version on her sixth studio album "By the Way, I Forgive You", which was released on February 16, 2018.
The video was directed by Bérénice Eveno, starring Elisabeth Moss and Nicole Disson.
This marks the second time Elisabeth Moss joined in the music video this year. Back in June, Elisabeth Moss appeared on Max Richter's music video for "On The Nature Of Daylight".
The video “Party Of One” is featuring a same-sex female relationship and was shot in New York.- “When I thought about making a video for ‘Party of One’ I couldn’t stop picturing Elisabeth’s face,” Brandi Carlile explains. “I sent Elisabeth a letter and she called back and suggested creating a love story about two women and using a female crew. A brilliant group of women are responsible for every part of this incredibly human love story and I’m more proud of it than anything visual I’ve ever done.”
Elisabeth Moss said. “When she sent me this song and shortly afterwards had asked me to be involved in the creation of the video, I said yes immediately because I fell so head over heels in love with the track. It’s one of those most beautiful musical pieces I’ve ever heard, right down to the string arrangement at the end.”
Brandi Carlile was nominated for Album of the Year, Best Americana Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best American Roots Song and Best American Roots Performance at the 61st Grammy Awards. - source : Rolling Stone
