Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Skylar Simone returned with a new song “Shiver” on May 3, 2024.
The song is her first music in two years and is the first single off of her upcoming EP of the same name, which is expected to be released in June 2024 via Def Jam Recordings.
It was written by Sam Watters, Skylar Simone, Taylor Drevan Hill, and D'Mile who also produced the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Nick Walker.
Skylar Simone said of the song, “I wanted to find that perfect blend of the 90s R&B I grew up listening to and next wave / forward sonics and lyricism that I feel ultimately represent the artist I am, and am striving to be.”
She continued, “'Shiver' is a song from a strong, feminine perspective about communicating how you want to feel. I hope people can relate to it in their own individual way, and that it makes them feel empowered, sexy, and confident.”- The new EP comprises a 5-track, produced by D'Mile with contributions from Scribz Riley and Talay Riley.
On the EP, she explores “themes of love of another and the self, and acting from a place of heartbreak and confidence.” - source : Apple Music
