Matt Simons Premieres New Song “We Can Do Better”
- Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Matt Simons has delivered a new song “We Can Do Better”. It was written by Emily Warren, Scott Harris, Dan Romer and Matt Simons.
Also he unveiled a music video for the song, directed by Beatrice Pegard, who created a simple but brilliant video featuring a group of children.
Matt Simons said of the song;
“I met up with Emily Warren and Scott Harris, both incredibly accomplished songwriters and we started talking about relationships, specifically marriage. Scott is already married, and I was just about to propose to my girlfriend in the coming weeks. We started discussing articles we'd read about how young people are not jumping into committed relationships nearly as often as previous generations and waiting later and later into their 20s and 30s to get married. With the divorce rate at more than 50%, can you blame them? We decided to write a song of hope for my future fiancée and myself about how We Can Do Better.”
And he explained of the video, "In our world of environmental and political chaos, it's a comforting thought to know that there are children and young people out there who are creating solutions, we need them to deliver more than ever before."
Matt Simons is better known for his single "Catch & Release" in 2014, which was remixed by Dutch house duo producers Deepend. The song was charting as "Catch & Release (Deepend Remix)" in a number of European charts including Austria, France, Germany and peaking at No. 1 on Ultratop, the official Belgian Singles Chart.
He has released two albums such as "Pieces" (2012) and "Catch & Release" (2014), so far.
He is currently working on his third album, which is expected to be released later this year through [PIAS] Recordings.
