Hannah May Premieres New Song “Lay Me Down”
- New Zealand country pop music singer-songwriter Hannah May released a new song “Lay Me Down” on September 4th.
The song is her third single of 2020 following “Pretty Girl” and “Passenger Seat”.
It was written by Hannah May and produced by Stuart Stuart.
The track features a mature theme of passion and playfulness in a romantic relationship. She is creating her own unique genre with her strong smooth vocal and suggestive lyrics between pop and country sound.
Hannah May told FIERCE & FABULOUS REVOLUTION about the song in an interview, “I really wanted to step out of my comfort zone and away from the typical country song ideas. 'Lay Me Down' is based around the excitement of a passionate romantic relationship between two people. I wanted to create a sensual kind of atmosphere but make it fun and something that people can dance to and get lost in. I think it's the kind of love that people fantasise about.”
Hannah May started her music career as the duo Mae Valley in 2017. The duo became X Factor New Zealand's Top 10 finalists.
Back in January, she released “Passenger Seat” as solo artist. On top of this, she was named one of the top 10 grand finalists in the 2020 Toyota Star maker competition held in Tamworth.
