Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Nickelback Covers “Unredeemable” from Christmas Musical Film “Spirited”
Canadian rock band Nickelback, consisting of Chad Kroeger (vocals/guitar), Ryan Peake (guitar), Mike Kroeger (bass) and Daniel Adair (drums), released a cover of “Unredeemable”.
The original version of the song is featured on the 2022 Christmas musical film “Spirited” soundtrack.
The track was written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Will Ferrell and Spirited Ensemble performed the song on the soundtrack.
This time, Canadian-American actor Ryan Reynolds asked Nickelback to perform the song. He tweeted, “Will, @OctaviaSpencer and I are so grateful for the love everyone's shown #Spirited. So we asked @Nickelback to sing Unredeemable. Just seemed like the right thing to do.”
Ryan Reynolds said on the music video, “Hi there! Will, Octavia and I want to thank you everyone who's made 'Spirited' the most watched movie ever on Apple TV+. That's crazy. A turning point in our film is the song 'Unredeemable'. It's an emotional anthem about whether humanity can overcome our mistakes. And I hope we can. So, Merry Christmas, everyone. “Spirited” was directed by Sean Anders, starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, Octavia Spencer, Sunita Mani, Patrick Page, Marlow Barkley, and Tracy Morgan.
The film is based on Charles Dickens's 1843 novella “A Christmas Carol”.
The film was released in select cinemas on November 11, 2022, before its streaming release on November 18, 2022, by Apple TV+.
It became the most-watched Apple TV+ movie ever.
