Sebastián Coloma & Alea Team Up for New Song “Ya No Te Puedo Querer”
Mexico-based Panamanian singer-songwriter Sebastián Coloma and Bronx-based Colombian singer-songwriter Alea teamed up to release a new song “Ya No Te Puedo Querer”.
The track was written by Sebastián Coloma and Maria Alejandra Jiménez. Produced by Sebastián Coloma.
The accompanying music video was directed by Luis Cantillo.
The song was born from Sebastián Coloma's personal experience, and he began to write it in New York City.
The pair crafted the song in Panama, and some parts in New York.
Sebastián Coloma said of the song, “It is a song of heartbreak, which speaks from a perspective of resignation in the face of a breakup and with a certain degree of anger and indignation at what happened.”
- Alea said, “'Ya no te puedo querer' has been one of the most significant collaborations for me. Also because I feel like it came at the right time in my life when I most needed to hear that message. Many times we find ourselves in situations with people that we do not know how to let go of, and accepting it is the hardest part. I think that I can't love you anymore speaks of a breakup but also of a liberation, of that strength that you find in yourself when you know that love is no longer served at the table. Writing the lyrics was liberating! I loved the song from the beginning and to see how we were able to develop it so lovingly from a distance was a beautiful experience.”
