  • Aubrey Haddard Shares New Song “Processing Power”

  • New York City-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Aubrey Haddard will release her sophomore album “Awake And Talking” on August 19, 2022.

It is her first album in four years since the 2018 debut album “Blue Part”.
From the album, she has released a new song “Processing Power”, following “Green As Ever”.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Jack Saunders.
It was written by Aubrey Haddard and Charley Ruddell. Produced by Charley Ruddell and Matt Peiffer.
“A droney kind of anthem. Charley [Ruddell] had that great guitar part that we just scorched with overdrive and it felt so powerful. What else does power even sound like if not a beefy guitar line? We are consistently inundated with information and I felt like screaming about it into the void,” Aubrey Haddard said of the song, “Processing Power was written while trying to cope with my frustrations. It's an anxious, cathartic song. I was feeling overwhelmed with both my own and the world's dependence on technology and writing it felt like my own personal revolt.”
She continued, “My favorite part of the track is where I sing 'the weight of the world in words is heavy.' I liked that line so much I sang it twice and layered up some creepy background voices. Later when we decided it would be a single, it made perfect sense to release a lyric video. The weight of the song in words is also heavy.”
  • She said of the album, “Awake And Talking is about seeking a sense of purpose. It challenges perception - how many ways can you look at the world before you find your place in it? It is about destiny and the journey to self-acceptance. And, like anything I create, it is about my own personal experience over the past few years. This record makes me feel powerful and confident in the face of uncertainty and it brings me a lot of joy to know that it could offer a sliver of that to anyone listening.”
