Cujo Moon Announces New EP “Horizons”, Shares New Song “In the Stars”
Nashville-based alt-folk singer-songwriter Cujo Moon announced his upcoming EP “Horizons” would be released on June 3, 2022 via Tone Tree Music.
From the EP, he released a new song “In the Stars” on May 6, 2022.
The song is the third single off of the EP, following “Spirits” and “Young Dreams”.
It was written and produced by Cujo Moon.
The accompanying lyric video is compiled from clips of a 1933 Kodacolor film (Creative Commons), shot by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries employee Harry J. Christoffers. It contains footage of Seattle's Ballard Locks, a sea voyage to Alaska, a commercial whaling crew, people picking wildflowers in Alaska's Pribilof Islands, and Alaskan wildlife.
Cujo Moon said of the song, “This song wrote itself in about 20 minutes on Christmas Eve of last year. I had just spent some time with my folks and should have been feeling joyful but I was back home, alone, and overwhelmed by a sense of sadness. It started out on acoustic guitar but a couple of months later, I wrote some parts on my old upright piano and loved how it shifted the mood to be more hopeful. It's about that jaded feeling of growing older where you're not as enamoured by the activities that used to bring you joy. It just hit me at that moment while staring at my record player collecting dust.”- Previous Song “Spirits”
