Skylar Grey Releases New EP “Make It Through The Day”: Streaming
- American singer-songwriter Skylar Grey released her new EP “Make It Through The Day” on November 6, 2020. Produced by Elliott Taylor, Jayson DeZuzio and Skylar Grey.
On the same day, she dropped a new music video for “Make It Through The Day”.
The EP comprises of 5-track including a cover of Travis Scott's “Goosebumps”. Also, the EP's songs will appear on her upcoming fourth studio album “Dark Thoughts”, which will be released in 2021. The album is her first LP as an independent artist.
Skylar Grey explained about a cover of the EP and the title track on social media, “Just want to clear the air here: It was a big shock to me when people started saying that I copied @sferaebbasta's Famoso artwork... I've never heard of him, let alone seen the artwork people are referring to. But now seeing it, I cannot deny the fact that they are spookily similar with the gold frame and the red graffiti style writing. To me this is just evidence of some kind of universal consciousness. If I had copied it, I would tell you... just like when I openly paid tribute to Travis Scott earlier this year in a set of photographs. In truth, my inspiration for this cover was Beethoven. I wanted to do a modern take on him, and a modern take on an old oil painting from his era, as the song itself is a modern take on classical music. I've had this concept for months, and the photo shoot for this cover happened on Sept 11th, 2020 then we re-shot it on Sept 17th because I didn't like my hair in the photos lol. (I just checked my archives). According to @sferaebbasta's Instagram page he revealed his cover on Oct 13th. So there's no explanation other than, we both had the same idea at around the same time. It happens. I'm glad this happened though because it led to me discovering @sferaebbasta who seems like a super dope artist! 🖤”
