Danish singer-songwriter MØ released a new EP “Dødsdrom” along with a new music video for “Spaceman” on August 12, 2022.
The EP comprises 4-track, produced by Oscar Holter, Jakob Littauer, Ronni Vindahl, Stint, Tobias Laust Hansen and Goss.
MØ shared on social media, “Dødsdrom means Motordrome in Danish. This collection of songs was written throughout the span of my career, but it also completes the Motordrome universe. And I do mean universe 🛸.”
The new song “Spaceman” was written by Karen Marie Ørsted, Ilsey Juber, Jas Mann, Noonie Bao, and Oscar Holter.
The accompanying video was directed by Fa+Fon Watkins.
MØ said of the song, “I wrote my version of the song with Noonie Bao, Ilsey Juber, and Oscar Holter, building on the original version written by Jas Mann. It was Oscar Holter who had the brilliant idea to use the hook from Babylon Zoo's cult classic 'Spaceman' as the chorus, and we all loved that idea! We wrote our demo back in 2017, but the timing just didn't feel right. Then came 2022, and all of a sudden, I was like 'It's Now!' We decided to rework the production a little bit - describing the vibe we were going for as 'Gotham Rave Party' - and that's how we arrived at the final version”- Back in January, she released her third studio album “Motordrome”. When the release of the new EP, the album was re-released as “Motordrome (The Dødstrom Edition)”, which is included the previous 10-track and four new songs from the new EP.
“The album is about both the sadness and the joy of making changes in your life,” MØ said of the album. “I hope that people will feel that it's genuine and that there are stories there that they can connect with. For me this album represents a huge change in my life. Even though I'm still doing what I love doing, it does feel like a new chapter. An era of my life is over and I'm entering a new one.
