Juice WRLD Dies Aged 21 After Seizure At Chicago's Midway Airport
- American rapper Juice Wrld, real name Jarad Anthony Higgins, died at the age of 21 on December 8th after suffering a seizure at Chicago's Midway airport.
Chicago police said the 21-year-old man suffered a medical emergency at around 02:00 local time (08:00 GMT) and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said the cause was unknown.
His record label, Interscope Geffen A&M Records, said “Juice made a profound impact on the world in such a short period of time. He was a gentle soul, whose creativity knew no bounds, an exceptional human being and artist who loved and cared for his fans above everything else.”
Juice Wrld was best known for his hit singles "All Girls Are the Same" and "Lucid Dreams" which helped him gain a recording contract with Lil Bibby's Grade A Productions and Interscope Records.
He debuted with "Forever" as JuicetheKidd via SoundCloud in 2015. In the same year, he released debut mixtape “What Is Love?”.
He signed to Interscope Records and released the debut album “Goodbye & Good Riddance”, and the second mixtape “Wrld on Drugs” in 2018.
Earlier this year, his sophomore album “Death Race for Love” was released, which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200.
He won the Billboard Music Awards for Top New Artist in May 2019.
