girl in red Drops A Cappella Version of “serotonin”
- Earlier this month, Norwegian alt-pop singer-songwriter Marie Ulven, aka girl in red released her newest song “serotonin” from her upcoming debut album “if i could make it go quiet”.
On March 19th, she dropped a cappella version of “serotonin” along with the video. She filmed it with a one take.
Marie Ulven said, “me and my friend recorded this as a one take in 5 minutes. a lil bit all over the place but i thought there was something special here. love u”
The song was written by Marie Ulven and produced by FINNEAS and Matias Tellez.
She told Spotify about the song in an interview, “The first song on the album, 'Serotonin,' which is also a single out today, includes a collaboration with producer FINNEAS where you'll be rapping. What was experimenting with this style like? Do you see yourself doing more of it? I think so, because I thought it was really fun. That rapping thing was all coming from me. No one was like 'Yo Marie, what if you try rapping, what if you, like, get on those trap beats?' So I definitely think I want to go a little bit into that direction, but in my own way. Like Ed Sheeran, he raps but like it's still Ed Sheerhan, you know what I mean?”
The debut album is set to be released on April 30, 2021 via AWAL.
