Machine Gun Kelly Performs “Concert for Aliens” on The Late Late Show with James Corden
- American singer-songwriter Machine Gun Kelly appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to perform “Concert for Aliens” with Travis Barker.
The song was released last August from his smash hit fifth studio album “Tickets to My Downfall”.
Machine Gun Kelly told James Corden how and why he decided to take a break from rhyming to release his more pop-punk-oriented album, “I've disappeared for a year and the label kind of caught wind that I was recording something, but the time I showed up, the whole album was done and I was just like, here, 'you you have no choice'. So they didn't really have a choice, but to accept. And there's a video of me, like, vibing to my music from this album, like, playing it for them for the first time, and you just saw, like 95% of the room, like, 'Okay, I quit.'”
He continued, “It feels like a metaphor for jumping out of the line and like making some noise. It feels like, hopefully, it will make labels and A&R up to do their jobs again, because back in the day, you try to be the first person to discover the best soul singer, the first person to create the ultimate boy group or girl group, and now everyone just wants to re-create the same thing over and over again and I just want to break the mold that.”
