Chase Wright Releases New Song “Why Should We”
- Nashville-based country music singer-songwriter Chase Wright released his first single of 2021 called “Why Should We” on January 15, 2021.
He co-wrote the song with Gary Garris and Levi Hummon. Produced by Zach Abend.
“Lots of times early on in relationships, we hold back and don't say what we mean. We're too cool, or trying to be too casual. Writing this is a message from me to me, saying it's okay to be honest both with myself and with others,” Chase Wright said of the song. “It's too easy for time go by without just saying what you mean.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Josh Holt. “I'd always had this image of neon lights and downtown and bars and those bright lights. So there has always been this image in my head of a red and blue neon light,” he told Country Now about the video. “I wanted to capture that in the video. But, I didn't want to do the traditional bar scene that maybe you'd seen in other country music videos. We wanted to put a different spin on it yet still keep those red, blue, and white neon lights in there. So that's where the idea of the lighting set-up came from were those downtown neon lights.”
