Amy Macdonald Releases New Song “Crazy Shade of Blue”
- Back in August, Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald announced her fifth studio album “The Human Demands” will be released on October 30, 2020.
The first single “The Hudson” was released on August 27th from the album and was inspired by the stories Macdonald's dad used to tell her about going to New York with her mum in the '70s. The music video was premiered on September 17th.
Following the song, she dropped the second single “Crazy Shade of Blue” on September 29th. The accompanying music video was directed by Jackson Ducasse.
Amy Macdonald shared on social media, “I'm really excited to share another track from my new album. This is a bit strange for me as my songs are usually all uptempo, so I'm slowing it down a little with this one. The production on this song is just beautiful. It's so atmospheric and it captures the mood of the song perfectly. It's a song about coming together or maybe even coming apart. I know how I feel about it but I'll let you decide. Enjoy.”
The new album is her first LP in three years and contains 10-track.
“A lot of the themes on this album are about getting older, which seems ridiculous given I'm only in my early 30s,” she explained. “But I signed my first record contract at 18, which feels like a lifetime ago, and on a personal level I'm at the stage in life where parents are getting on, friends have faced depression to the point of not wanting to be here anymore, and everyone has had ups and downs whatever their background. It's OK to feel a bit crap, and it's OK to talk about it as well.”
