The August Arrival Releases New Song “Whisper”
Yukon-based indie-folk band The August Arrival will release their new album “Hillsides” on October 11, 2024.
The album is their first project in three years the 2021 EP “All Blue and Gold”.
From the album, the band released the second single called “Whisper” on September 13, 2024, following “Camped Out”.
The track was written by Sara Jane MacDonald and produced by Jordy Walker.
The band lead singer Sara Jane MacDonald said of the song, "'Whisper' is a song about witnessing a loved one struggle. Writing this song was meaningful in many ways. It gave voice to the intense emotions that can surface when someone close to you faces hardship, which allowed me to gain some distance from those feelings. Additionally, the process of writing the song affirmed my commitment to doing everything possible to help that person. Ultimately, through writing 'Whisper,' I came to believe that it was all going to be okay."- The new album comprises a 8-track, produced by Jordy Walker.
The album was written during what Sara Jane MacDonald describes as a “growth phase” and reminds us that strength and beauty emerge from life’s most challenging moments.
From health scares to a child’s Autism diagnosis to the loss of a loved one, the august arrival’s songs offer an honest and vulnerable examination of change, loss, longing, and finally, appreciation. -
