Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Hayes Warner & Billy B Team Up for Cover of No Doubt's “Just A Girl” featuring Kevin Rudolf
New York-based singer-songwriter Hayes Warner teamed up with American rapper Billy B to release a cover of American rock band No Doubt's “Just A Girl” on International Women's Day (March 8).
Both artists recruited American singer-songwriter Kevin Rudolf on the track.
This marks the first time Hayes Warner, Billy B and Kevin Rudolf have worked together.
A portion of the proceeds from this song will be donated to the organization Supermajority that's dedicated to helping women's voices be heard.
The original version of the song was released by No Doubt from their third studio album “Tragic Kingdom” in 1995.
The track was written by Dumont Thomas M and Stefani Gwen Renee. The cover version was produced by Jackson Hoffman, Ali Dee, and Anthony Mirabella.- Hayes Warner told EUPHORIA. Magazine about the song, “No Doubt is such an iconic band, and that is such an iconic song of theirs. I have always wanted to pull inspiration from them, but the idea of taking a portion of what they said [in the original “Just A Girl”] and making a 2024 edition, one that speaks to how I view the song and what it means to me is really exciting.”
She continued, “The song has references from that 1995 version, but there are some new elements of it that I add in. I definitely put a big cap down to Gwen in my verse and my lyrics. I'm also super excited about collaborating with this amazing rapper, Billy B. She just has such amazing energy and I was a fan of her before we even did this collab. She brings her own perspective on what that song means to her. It being International Women's Day, we thought it was a relevant day to release this one.” - source : Apple Music
