Green Day Releases New Song “One Eyed Bastard”
American rock band Green Day, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals/guitars), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums), released the last promotional single called “One Eyed Bastard” from their upcoming fourteenth studio album “Saviors” on January 5, 2024.
The album is set to be released on January 19, 2024. It is their first album in four years.
Green Day shared on social media, “What can we say? We're *full* of surprises. Got ONE more song for ya before Saviors drops in two weeks. 'One Eyed Bastard' is out everywhere nowwww.”
The track was written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. Produced by Green Day and Rob Cavallo.
The band lead singer Joe Armstrong said of the song in a statement, “'One Eyed Bastard began as just a riff, a shuffle, almost like a Black Sabbath kind of riff.”
He continued, “Lyrically, I was just reflecting on bad times in life. That’s the thing about nostalgia, sometimes you think, ‘That was an awful time.’ Everybody’s got that ugly place in their life where they have to deal with ugly thoughts - it could be like revenge or whatever.
