FIIZ Releases New Song “Phantom Limb”
Brooklyn-based electropop duo FIIZ, consisting of Fiona (Fi) and Isabelle (Iz), released the second single of 2023 called “Phantom Limb” on September 14, 2023.
The track draws a sentiment that resonates on a deeply personal level that is the peculiar feeling of missing someone even when they are physically present.
Fiona said, “Missing a friend isn't a pain that you ever forget.”
Isabelle added, “We wanted to write about the aftermath when time has passed and healing has begun but maybe there will never be closure.”
A phenomenon that often remains unspoken, this disconcerting experience serves as the foundation of “Phantom Limb.”
It goes beyond personal experiences, touching upon universal themes of miscommunication, loss of connection, and the shifting nature of social dynamics.
The duo said of the song, “This song is arguably one of the most important steps on our music journey. It's a concept we've been trying to find clarity in our writing and also it was one of the first songs we produced our own demo for (shoutout busy chords).
