L Devine Premieres New Song “Push It Down” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Olivia Rebecca Devine, aka L Devine premiered a new song “Push It Down” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is her first music since the 2021 EP “Near Life Experience Part One”.
Also, the song will appear on her upcoming project, which is expected to be released this summer.
The track was written by Olivia Devine, and Jay Flew who also produced it.
The accompanying music video was directed by Emilio Gamal Boutros.
L Devine told Clara Amfo about the song, “It's about suppressing feelings and heighten vulnerabilities and pushing them down and trying to keep my cool kind of mimic my love interests, nonchalance, I guess.”
She continued, “This is all about me. And it's not like I think a lot of songs that I've got coming out and especially this one, it's not like a direct yearning or I'm not like angry at the person. It's just like what it reveals about me.”
- She said of the new project, It's been awesome. I mean, I love when we're rudimental that's when it's really cool for me to be about like jump in that space and do right and for them and like working the dance space. And I think it's just through collaborations I get to do that, because I think my project, especially these new songs, feels like a really particular sound.”
She added, “So I love riding with other people and getting a jump out and jump out of that for a second. But this new stuff, I've done it all with one guy called Julian Jay Flew. And I think just being able to, like have one relationship where I work with someone for like a really long time and go on a journey with them. Really helps me like harness the sound.”
