Mazey Haze Releases New Song “Always Dancing” from Debut EP
- Amsterdam-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Mazey Haze will release her upcoming debut EP “Always Dancing” on Otober 22, 2021 via LUSTRE.
From The EP, she unveiled the title track along with a music video.
It was written by Mazey Haze, produced by Sam Verbeek and Nadine Appeldoorn. The video was shot by Fee Oomes and edited by Nadine Appeldoorn.
“Always Dancing is a song about having an intervention with yourself after a rough period where lots of things have drastically changed,” Mazey Haze explained. “Trying to figure out what it means that you have been doing and where you want to go (for the first time). Realising you have to adapt to this new situation and wanting to grow with it so you can move forward. Being closed off after giving yourself away too easily, without thinking about it. For me personally, this song is about my first realisation that I can and need to take control over my own life. I was starting to feel quite okay while being alone and started seeing the first bits of light after (what felt like) a long time of darkness.”
- The EP comprises of 5-track. She said of the EP, “Human feelings and thoughts. Total honesty about a very vulnerable and fearful chapter of my life. Unfiltered lyrics that came straight out at moments I felt the lowest I have ever felt. At times cynical and sarcastic. Thoughts and feelings we all experience but which are also very private and personal. An EP about me struggling through my first breakup(s) and trying to figure out who I am, for the first time ever. Sound-wise the EP is also strongly guided by my gut-feeling and intuition. The music accompanies the lyrics as it matches the strong and deep feeling I had at the time. The EP is sonically straightforward but detailed as well. Dynamic and layered. Groovy and dreamy. For me, this EP is the beginning of floating through the unknown, forever.”
