Madonna Premieres New Song “Medellín” featuring Maluma on Apple Beats 1
- American singer-songwriter Madonna is back. She recruited Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma on her new song “Medellín”. The song was premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Radio show.
The track is the first taste from her upcoming fourteenth studio album "Madame X".
“I met him backstage at the [MTV] Video Music Awards and he was very sweet,” she told Zane Lowe. “The next day he sent me flowers and said what a great honor it was to meet me.”
“So Mirwais and I start listening to his music more closely and liked all the reggaeton that he does,” Madonna continued. “[We wanted to do] something slightly different but still has a connection to the music he makes and is still connected to Madame X. We started working on music and he started commenting and adding things and eventually we got into a studio together. He’s so great to work with. One of the most easygoing, open, warm, generous, doesn’t leave the studio until the work is done. Has great work ethic. I adore him. Nothing but great things to say about him.”
Maluma said, "Madonna and I are cooking there together, making some beautiful songs. I'm very excited. That's a huge step for my culture, for Latin culture, it's very very big."
