20th Century FOX premiered the first trailer for upcoming Sci-Fi film “Ad Astra” on June 5th.
The film was directed by James Gray and stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland.
The film follows that an astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to space in search of his long-lost father Clifford McBride (Tommy Lee Jones), whose experiment threatens the solar system. He uncovers secrets which challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.
Originally, the film was set for release in early 2019, but it was then pushed back numerous times. Finally, the film is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2019.- James Gray planned to write and direct "Ad Astra" during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. He mentioned that he intended for the film to feature "the most realistic depiction of space travel that's been put in a movie and to basically say, 'Space is awfully hostile to us.'"
Principal photography on the film began in mid-August 2017 in Santa Clarita, California. - source : First Showing
